What a year it’s been! I’m looking back at 2017 with so much gratitude. With so many projects and moments in life that I’m proud of. It’s way too much to tell every milestone but like last year, I’m wrapping this year up with ten moments that are very dear to me.

Working for Max Factor
Through the awesome PR agency Dijksman Communicatie in Amsterdam I got to make this awesome postcard for Max Factor with my handmade watercolor illustrations.

Handmade weddingstationery for a styled shoot in Paris
My best friend Lott’s made these wonderful photos and I couldn’t be happier to have been part of a beautiful, dreamy and romantic production like this one.

SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas
By far the best festival I’ve ever been to. Adventures like these are the best way to learn. Thanks to my work at the University, Fontys school of ICT, I got to go on this incredible journey I’ll always keep close to heart. A festival packed with creative, wonderful and unique minds. Each with their own awesome talent and treasures. Learning has never been so much fun and exciting at the same time. A magical place: SXSW!

On a more personal note: a wonderful adventure in the Mediterranean
A daily clear blue sky, hot sun, salty air and a healthy dose of vitamine sea. I could not be more thankful for my in-laws for taking us on this incredible adventure in Cyprus last June.

Creating this special birth card for Reza
Personal illustrating projects like these are very special to me. By an idea of his parents, I fully illustrated this birth card with an adorable treasure map theme!

My first in-store collection at Hema

Sometimes you still have to pinch me to make me realize if this is reality or all just a dream! It’s wonderful to make illustrations for a big brand like this but it’s INCREDIBLE to see such a big collection with all your artwork in an actual store! Fun fact: it’s also sold across Europe! UK, Spain, France and in Germany! I’m still over the moon about this.

My dream. Our USA roadtrip

This was a personal dream come true. Our big and adventurous roadtrip in the United States. We didn’t hold back and basically did everything we wanted to do during the trip, from the most exciting hikes, renting the biggest and baddest SUV, stargazing in the beautiful Joshua Tree desert in a vintage airstream, sleeping on the Vegas Strip – in the awesome MGM Grand and up-hill buggy riding like a pro in Utah. And you know what? That is only the tip of the iceberg! That’s why I decided to make a series of this trip. It was simply impossible to put the whole journey into one single post, you can read all of them on the blog

My dream part two. California!
Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed about roadtripping the United States, and this pretty part of the States was definitely on top of my must-see-list. This week I’ll write some more about this Golden state, covering the beach: Malibu, Venice and Santa Monica stories coming in hot!

Making these awesome chocolate paper wraps for The Happiness Café

I love working for this client. They always come up with fresh and creative ideas I just love to get my hands on! So teaming up with them always feels inspiring. I’m very proud to see the result of these lovely chocolates and they are tasty too. Yum!

My second (!) in-store collection at Hema

Okay, not one, but two collections from my hand at HEMA? Pinch me again will ya! I made these handmade watercolor patterns for the kitchen & cookware collection called Bergen and Chicago.

Happy New Year
I’m so thankful. My heart is full. I can’t wait for all that has to come next. I wish you all the best for 2018 and a very happy, blessed, healthy and awesome new year!
